You show someone you will loose your spot. It has worked against me here a couple of times.

The last time I showed a landowner how I did things, I lost my spot, he figured he could handle it. I got a call the next fall after he got tired of loosing oaks. I found one of his beaver sets, a stake with no nut or t, and a carefully placed carrot next to a 1.5.
