I saw this at Walmart and thought I'd give it a try. It's now my bread for toast and sammiches. I didn't eat sammiches before because of the carbs in the bread.

I hope it’s better than gluten free bread. We bought that and it had the worst texture

Net doesn't mean the same as no carbs. it means there is more fiber so it takes longer for the sugar (carbs) to enter your blood stream. Whatever the label lists as carbs you are still getting. Just not as fast. Dont eat more carbs than you want to by being fooled by the net carb marketing term

I don't believe this is correct Danny. It is my understanding that fiber is not broken down into glucose and has no effect on blood sugar levels.

Just read your article Danny, agree that consuming a bunch of sugar alcohols probably is not the best idea for anyone... which are in a lot of low carb/low cal foods. OK, here is Paul's bread label... 9 grams of carbs, 8 of which are fiber... I think this is a pretty safe bread for diabetics...

When you are following most of the established low carb diets, you only count net carbs which are calculated by subtracting the grams of fiber from the total carbs. Often, the dietary fiber isn't absorbed at all.

Paul, we've had that brand of bread and a few variations on it in our stores for some time now. Those are some nice options! After the Keto brand, we then got this Hero brand (in the photo). They have Hawaiian rolls that are good too! We also have all kinds of zero net carb tortillas. A few years back, they used be be horrible. Now they're soft and really great.

The more they sell, the more products you'll see. It sure gives you some nice options!

I should add that many of the low carb diet guidelines also subtract sugar alcohols from net carbs as well, but usually mention that they should be avoided in any large amounts. They especially show up in sweets like sugar free candies.

My Dr. advised me that for each gram of fiber you can subtract 1 gram of carbs. resulting in net carbs. I went from 320 down to 265 by staying around 25 net carbs a day. That was 4 years ago, I have since gained some back. starting next week to get back down to a manageable weight.

Thanks for posting this Paul,
My wife is type 1 since she was 15,she is always counting carbs and has an operation coming up but,
they won't operate until her A1C is below 8 or under. It was 8.4 in September, but now according to her
CGM it is now 7, so blood test next week.

I tried some of that other keto stuff like sugar free cakes, pancakes and brownies but it was heck on my gut terrible results. I’d still give this bread a shot I’m always looking for other food options when I can.

If tht works for you, great. However, for myself I've found it easiest to just not try to fool myself by eating fake breads and other fake, look-a-like carbs. I just divorce my mind of those things. If I do eat real carbs, which I do on ocassion, I just cut way back on the serving size.

From personal experience, Lewis makes the best low carb breads. They also make Keto hamburger and hotdog buns. As for tortillas, the Extreme Wellness ones pictured in Patrice's pic at the left are great. The tomato basil ones are my preferred tortilla even if/when I am not watching carbs....they're that good!

This is my toast bread. Smells and taste great toasted!
Natural Own Keto bread is my sandwich bread. Their KETO hotdog and hamburger buns are great too!

What ingredients does it have, enriched flour is not good, any starch, moltrodextrin in it?
