What have you made with them? Very good metal. I made a simple gaff of course Plus a 330 coni safety. I got the Idea from the guy that sold them at the NY convention for $2 each. But mine are more stable. [Linked Image]

The wide base keeps it very stable. Just an idea for you tinkerers, which I am one......jk

Yep, very nicely done. Power line guy cable is a great wire to use for them. The center wire is a galvanized spring steel wire. Excellent for making rat stretchers. I have made some and also make a keeper key for hitches or other pins that need a key.

Great tip thanks.

I always used them to make dried muskrats.

Well, they are spring steel. so good, and strong for a lot of homemade stuff. I have some old ones that I saved for making stuff...

Snowy, that is great!! Power line guy cable works just as hard as the stretcher wire. I found a 100 yards of the stuff in the woods a few years ago and use it a lot too. And you idea of "pin Keys" I like that, thanks for adding to the post.......jk

I cut the bottom portion off of mine and use them for 160 and 220 stabilizers. Just the bent nose and the two legs left. To use put Nose up and squeeze a little then stab a leg down inside each set of eyes of set bodygrip and then push down into the ground a bit. The nose of stretcher has plenty of room for the dog to fire upward when tripped. Light and easy to put a bunch into a bucket. Blend well in dead grass for coon sets too.
