Looking to pick up a used one somewhere. One of the large cube plastic containers/carboy that are for liquid storage(with or without metal cage exterior. Don’t know what they are properly called to search for them. Or if they come different sizes???

Farm supply places and farms have them here but like said most would be toxic for most home uses. The last 2 I had were full of fish oil they went to the Rez for a DIY septic tank system. I’d definitely go food grade no matter what.

Facebook Marketplace and Craigslist both have IBC Totes on them, in huge numbers. They range from at least 240 to 350 gallons in size. Price wise, they range from free to $200.00 for the new, food grade ones. I have around 40 IBC totes in use. They are very useful. I use them for raised beds, composting, bench tops for plants, heated rooting cloners, brooders cages, tanks for fish, storing wood for grilling and for storage. I've never paid more than $10.00 for one and have gotten most for free.
Depending on what you are using them for, you need to be careful of what was in them.

If you have a surplus supply place check with them, our scrapyard here has a bunch they use for holding separate items.

Lots of them around most here have had chemical in them. If you are using them for watering, tree or livestock I would make sure you get ones that never had chemical in them. I just sold two good ones that I used for livestock and for trees.

I want to put one on a small trailer to transport and store some bulk shelled corn thru winter to light feed wildlife. One preused with really toxic liquids wouldn’t be good. I’ll mod a port to gravity fill to a bucket to spread out a couple times a week. Price of Prebagged corn is all going to the middleman.

A few years ago I got a tote, a pair of 3500 lb axle hubs (not a whole axle, just hubs and stubs) and some scrap iron. I made a water trailer for watering trees. For low speed off road suspension is not necessary. ![[Linked Image]](https://trapperman.com/forum/attachments/usergals/2026/01/full-59077-280772-img_1832.jpeg)

Thanks! I've been very pleased with it.
While welding it together I wrote my email address (which is firstname.lastname@gmail.com) with the welder on the toungue well up under the tote, about 10-12 inches long. You have to crawl up under the trailer to find it, and now that its covered in dirt it could be easily overlooked even then. So I don't expect a theif to quickly find it and grind it off. If it ever gets stolen and I can find it, that should make proof of ownership straightforward.
