Thanks Walt. The snow has really made it tough. I can't get on most of my farms. I'm sure a lot of trappers have the same problem. Happy New Year.

Nice catch Lance.

We don't have a lot of snow cover here. I am going to put in a couple coyote sets tomorrow.

My grandson Is coming down from Alaska to do a little deer hunting. So, I will have Wyatt pick out some locations and I can put in a bunch of Bottom edge sets, and he can help me check them. We have a major stream that never freezes no matter how cold it gets.

Good luck to you KSnow.

Have fun with your grandson Beav. My oldest son and his wife always went checking bottome edge sets with me over the holidays but they now have a 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son so that doesn't happen anymore.

A coworker of mine had drawn a cat tag for the second season and asked for some help. I had one located so I put him on it and made it happen.

The final set of tracks this cat ever made. Cats consistently cross the road at this location paralleling a small creek with a large cottontail and snowshoe population.

[Linked Image]

Over the cats back on the left side is a dirt hole set. On the right side is a rub set with beaver sack oil and a long distance call lure

The cat working the rub with its face shortly before being caught.

Here is a daylight view of this. You can see the oil on the tree on the right.

I've gotten to really enjoy bobcat trapping. It seems to me like location is the most important part and if you find a cat track you can bet that cat will be thru there again right in the same foot steps.

Nice bobcat JSell.

The weather sure took an ugly turn. Going to be a muddy, soupy mess for a few days.

Caught this mink and rat about 6 feet apart today. [Linked Image]
This rat was missing tip of tail [Linked Image]
Creeks were rising today with rain and warm temps.

42 degrees, raining, and ankle deep mud. Why not?

Yep, straw set, made about a week ago, when we had snow.

Way to go KS doesn't even look like to much a mud puppy. Must be the straw.

It was a sloppy mess yesterday but we managed a few. 2 on snare poles and 2 in bank holes. Hopefully Monday we can start out river line if the water isn't too high.
