Hi all-
Hope you’re all doing well and finding some fur.
So I’m kinda a Beaver nubie. But hopefully getting a few this winter.
Long story short, I don’t wanna store boards and i can’t find anyone to ship hoops.
So… I was thinking about DIYing some hoops. Any advice? How about use hog rings, orange fiberglass driveway markers, and a couple cable clamps? Thoughts?

Good luck and be safe.

I'd get 1/4" cold roll steel cut 10' long and weld two steel nuts about 4" apart on one end so you can still adjust the loop size .

You're friend along the snare line .

I was at a trappers convention and watched a demo where the presenter used High tension cable the kind used to brace power line poles to make his beaver hoops, he would cut a section to length then bend into a hoop and secure with a clamp

I thought it was an interesting idea but personally I just prefer boards

Was that the year that a section of power lines tipped over due to missing 5ft. piece close to the ground of guy wires mysteriously were missing?

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!
