My dad usually slays the crappie here in the spring. He didn't fish much this year. He has had prostate cancer for about 15 + years about 4 years ago they told him he had stage 4 bone cancer. A few months ago they said he had leptomeningeal disease, which is a very fatal diagnosis.

Dad will be 85 this spring he is a Army veteran and I would like to make his wish come true.
He has always wanted to catch crappie through the ice. We do not have that opportunity here. Can anyone help out with this or recommend a guide or location to make this happen?

I will say that if I didn't say his medical conditions you would not know he was even sick. He is actually tearing down an old barn and rebuilding it now. Lol
I can tell you they don't make men like him anymore!!

Any any help would be appreciated

I have used a fella up here that is a great guide. I would stop short of a guarantee of catching crappie, but only because you can't make them bite. Anyway, he is in Sauk Rapids, MN and his name is Matt Klug and # is 320-260-5494. I, personally, know this guy and I am quite confident he will give you a great trip.

Zero advice on that, but prayers for you and your Dad.

I just returned from a short SD ice fishing trip. They are driving trucks out, currently.

Thanks AP. Well I've heard of ice before. However I haven't seen any in a long time. We had Christmas in the yard this year it was near 80 crazy. Maybe I need to make this trip a bucket list item for me. There may not be ice fishing in the future frown

Man that looks fun. It’s a bucket list thing for the wife and I. I need to start looking for a place to go next year
