Now that Im older and more forgetful. The most important thing I have learned about making coffee. After you get the pot all set and ready to go. Be sure to turn it on before you leave the kitchen to do other things while it brews.
Hope this helps.

Community medium roast is big down here. After we open a bag or can of coffee we stick it in the fridge to keep it fresh

Tried the Kirkland brand a while back. Did not like it. Mixed it in with others to get it used up.
Have used the egg shells years ago and forgot about it. Used them again this morning. Does change things.

I know what stops have drinkable coffee along the way up and down the I-90 corridor but I’d take coffee from our Bunn maker any day. I add my own sweetener (stevia) and water as most truck stop coffee is too strong for my gut.

Seen some coffee that if you can add half/half to and the color barely changes that goes in the trash it’s not for me makes me sick.

I have always liked Yuban. Compared to other conventional coffees, that is my choice .

I have recently found Bulletproof. It comes in varied roasts, and decaf is also offered. It was presented to me, as a superb coffee that is tested for insecticide , as most coffee is heavily sprayed .Organic.

Medium/dark is my favorite.

I tried some and compared to any other conventional coffee , it is as smooth and nice as I've ever tried. Of course it is more expensive , but the benefits are worth it , IMO.

I still have Yuban, but Bulletproof is now my choice for special times.

There are two species of coffee. Most of the worlds coffee is the lower grade "robusta" species like what is grown in Brazil's lowlands. The "arabica" is what is mountain grown and is the premium one.

I was at a Good Food Awards ceremony a few years back and the roasters that got the top awards were all using Ethiopian beans. My wife was convinced that the judges had been paid off because no way it shouldn't have been Colombian coffee. LOL Anyway, I talked to some of the roasters and they were telling me that the trick is to get the freshest beans available and at the time of the contest that was Ethiopia. It can change depending on what time of the year they are roasting.
