I got to ask,,,,, why a float there? Water fluctuation? The site looks like any number of sets could be used. It is not were I would usually position a float.

I got to ask,,,,, why a float there? Water fluctuation? The site looks like any number of sets could be used. It is not were I would usually position a float. Correct - water fluctuation. TVA raises and lowers the water regularly. The range is 7 feet. Mid November the drain starts and by April 15 it should be back to full pool. Besides, I wanted to make one for fun.

If it is a place you trap on an annual contract, I would make a floating swim through double log set. Similar to Charles Dobbins log bank set.

Awesome! I'll have to crack Pauls book open again, but I think I pick up what you're laying down Vinke. Beauty about trapping is sometimes you gotta really use your imagination in tough spots. Them floats are great for crazy water fluctuations.
