Had a female bobcat yesterday in a set.
She did a good job of wrecking the set.
I remade it the best I could and had a Tom waiting for me today. Did another remake today.
I was going to make a couple more sets just outside the burn circle, but I tripped on auger on my cordless drill and face planted myself . I had nothing to help myself get stood back up. Ended up crawling back over to the truck to pull myself back up and on my feet. Banged my knee up good and my back hurts something terrible. So I'm going to hold off on making anymore sets. Supposed to have some heavy rain tomorrow evening. Hopefully I have enough waxed dirt to waterproof the few sets I have out.
This cat makes 3 in 4 days from the 5 traps I have in the dirt. Coons and grinners not included.
I can't complain if my little line dried up today.

Apparently it’s a banner year for cats in the South. Caught 4 in one trap and another 2 in the next set about 30yds away. My buddy got a pic of another cat walking by last night, lol. I don’t know where they’re coming from.

We have no limit on bobcats in Missouri.

And they are very abundant here also.

That said, the colors don't come close to the Western cats

We're getting a cool down after tomorrow. 20's for the lows and mid 40's for the high.

But it has been short sleeve weather in the afternoons.

This was my best looking one that a buddy wanted to mount. He’s light colored and his rosettes stick out better than the pic shows. Most of ours look like a rabbits back.

Oh I had back surgery mid November. They installed cages, rods and screws.

Everything I had to get down and stand back up was on the opposite side of the set from where I face planted.

It was my own stupid fault.

Made me wonder if I was going to have to use the phone a friend option though.

May have been a good idea. He would have brought cold beer !
