I’m not techy in any way but I need a security camera of some kind that will record and save footage somehow. Anyone here have recommendations. I need simple so keep that in mind.
Unfortunately I now have a couple meth heads renting the house directly across the street from me. They get all cranked up and terrorize the whole neighborhood. I been taking the brunt of this cra# I guess because I’m closest but they threaten everyone in the neighborhood. I’ve been threatened with bodily harm enough to take it very seriously. I can and will defend myself if necessary but I don’t want it to go that far. The neighbors have had to call the police dozens of times on these clowns but the police just say they can’t do anything if we don’t have proof of the threats. I need something to have video proof. Help!

Several options through the ring cameras. I have a few and they are easy to set up. My bro has a set also in his commercial building now also. you can access the camera through your phone while away. ring.com

I have had several brands and the best so far are EUFY. Great picture and follow movement! Record to a router.

It also notifies on your cell phone of activity.

I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

I use Blink Cameras from Amazon. They work well for me.

We have WYZE cameras that do all that. They record all kinds of stuff that comes into our yard.

Do not buy anything with a subscription. It isn't much more to get high quality cameras that do not require a subscription.

I have 3 Reolink NVRs, and over 20 Reolink cameras. NVR is Network Video Recorder - like a Tivo or vcr for the security cameras. I record 24/7 and keep 1-4 weeks of video (depending on how many cameras are connected and how many hard drives I installed).

If you're doing very many of them, cameras powered over the network cable are best (POE - power over ethernet). But solar powered wifi connected cameras are also available and easier if you only want 1 or 2. Just keep in mind with the battery/solar powered one you will only get motion events recorded. If the motion events don't trigger, there is no recording. With the NVRs and POE cameras, I have 24/7 recording plus motion events. I use them for security and game cameras. When a deer walks by blind my phone gets a popup saying "pet detected and blind".

If you clarify what exactly you're trying to accomplish we can give more specific suggestions. How many areas do you want to cover? How far from the camera is the area of interest? Do you have power nearby? Are you willing to run network cable (or just solar powered)? How concerned are you about price?

My favorites for up close stuff is the 180 degree viewing agle dual 4k and for farther out dual 4k lens pan-tilt-zoom. I have several of each. There are cheaper options, but I quit buying the cheaper options.

I have 8 Blink cameras and 1 Ring camera. I also have fake cameras up, because they are very cheap and more obvious. I would rather dissuade someone from committing a crime than catch someone on camera and have to hope something positive comes from it.

Less than 2 weeks ago, this idiot Uber driver, who a customer hired, had an enormous amount of space and still drove into a mineral tub of black walnuts and nearly hit one of our Ford Rangers. I made him give me $20.00 for the tub. The accident was caught on 3 different Blink cameras. This is a somewhat zoomed in view, from a camera around 40' away.

Wyze has been trouble free and do everything we need them to do. 8 years and not a hitch.

We have Blink they work good. My friend uses Wyze for his home, vacation place and business. He claims that they are great.
