I was watching Montana wolf trapper making a new set and it was with a 330 on a run pole 4 inches around and 4 feet off the ground with bait for bobcats. Anyone have information on this set?

Loving every day as it comes.

That is a go to set for a lot of the bobcat trappers in my area. Standard procedure would be to wire a large-ish bait to a leaning tree, preferably a cedar near a stream and cover it with a few branches to keep the crows off. Some will set a camera on it to see when it gets discovered and what size cats are using it. When season opens you would just rebait and place a 330 in front, common practice is to elevated the trap a few inches usually a couple 2x4s or a smaller chunk of wood so the cat doesn't have to duck down to pass through the trap. It is a lot easier to keep a conni-bear working through the weather we get than to try to maintain ground sets.
Law says the the trap has to be a minimum 4 feet above the ground.
Cameras are usually kept on these sets so a catch can be retrieved sooner as a dead cat dangling from a tree is very tempting to the other cats, coyotes, and wolves that frequent the same areas.

I’d think a snare replacing the 330 would make it legal in a lot more places, should work the same.
