Nice having someone else drag the sled...get the bait...and drive me.

Should have at least 8 inches of ice.

This will be the earliest we've been ice fishing in many years..

Got to take advantage of Early ice...

We ran some tipups a few days ago. Managed to catch one little pike. Hoping to get out again on Sunday.

Nothing yet, Nessie. Weird weather has made for really weird ice conditions this year. Sounds like the airboaters are going off the landing by my house, heading out for perch. Either that or there's a ton of guys trapping out here!

If we ever get decent ice I would like to head out with my new-to-me UTV.

It was 61F here yesterday and in the fifties today. We get very little safe ice.

I have little ice fishing experience. I've always caught fish ice fishing on bigger lakes in Ohio, but never as many as I would on the same lake in warm weather. I've never caught any fish ice fishing in ponds, even though they are great in warm weather. When I was a kid, we also used to try fishing the open water, on ponds with some surface ice and never caught anything.

When he retired, my uncle David moved far up into Michigan because he enjoys ice fishing so much.

Trout? Do you not have any fish more palatable than that up there?

We can't fish for pretty trout under the ice in NY, only the ugly ones

Warmer than normal down here, no ice during normal winter

The only time I drink beer at 7:30 am...

Now it is time for a nap.

You ain't kidding Snowy....it felt like I walked a marathon chasing all them flags.

We had 6 traps each out on this lake...

So 12 traps ..25 yaahds paaht....iam beat !!

I wish we could run that many, we only get two lines. Looks like you had a good time.

Sam ...our lakes that are managed for Salmon and lake trout ...you only get 2 holes per person...which sucks

Brookies were the target fish.......but the perch took ovah.

Plus it's haahd to drink beer and jig at the same time...

So I don't jig...lol

Five would be your max. Anything more and you would need to take your other mitten off to count. If it weren't for the little string holding them to your jacket you would lose them too.
