I watched Robert's Frost Scrape a beaver at the Fur Harvesters Auctions Convention this weekend. He makes it look easy as long as the temperature is right. At least minus 20. I videoed Robert about 10 years ago doing a beaver in a few minutes outside when conditions were right. This year he put it in a freezer overnight after boading and scraped the next day. Great Demo. Always learn & enjoy his fur handling demos.

Robert also did a martin handling presentation. The man knows how to handle fur.


Jeff G’s fur grading presentation is also a must see.
When you can see all different species, grades and colours side by side it becomes pretty evident how grading is done and how your put up is important.



If you’ve never been to one of these conventions, or don’t send your fur to FHA, you’re missing out.

Mahoney, was that you that gave the fox trapping demo? If so really nicely done, wanted to ask you a bunch of questions but the next talk started right away.

Dirt, to confirm you will need to provide photographic evidence of your claim. Preferably frost scraping something.

The only thing I frost scrape is my gray beard at the end of a the day. Then some ibuprofen and deep blue.

I did the Fox Demo this year. I also did a Mink & Fox Demo this past summer at the OFMF. I have been coming North for over 20 years and met many great trappers & friends.
