… what say you ?

… I’ve gotten down to running 4 coiled stock bridger 2 dogless

… had a few pull out right in front of me with 2 coil set up

… glad I didn’t cut the extended spring bases off

I've only had one coyote and one big cat pull out when I drove up I use mainly modified #3 Montana but the two in particular were two coiled, never again.

4 coils for me, i like the SPEED of them vs 2 coils as well as the extra holding power!~

I use JC Conner Taos spring kits all #3's and #2's got them now only my 1 1/2 mink/rat/coon traps are 2 coiled now

If only using Bridger yes 4 coil.
It is model dependent
from my experience.

How about the oh so popular 550s?

One other thing I think I learned.
You know those lightning kits?
They add speed but not clamp force.
I like those.

Pull outs are just a matter of a poor catch in the first place. Just how it goes being a trapper. We have all had it happen. They get that last couple of lunges as you approach and there they go.

I've lost a couple bobcats at what appeared to be first lunges.....same trap as you Savell...B2 dogless stock.

Most of mine are now four-coiled.

The geometry of the bridger #2 allows for sub par lockup.the way they are they depend on spring strength for holding power and not trap design.4 coil is best on those particular traps

I’ve had what appear to be pull outs on short chains. Since I’ve gone to 60” chains the only pullout I’ve had was a lion, pulled the jaws right out of the frame!!

… I’d say a round jaw trap is a better design for holding

… ran victor 2 for years with little issue… but had to baseplate

MB 550 offset 4 coiled

I'm still surprised that he didn't pull out of it right in front of me

Bridger #2 dog on. This one wasn’t going anywhere. I did have a big bobcat pop out of one of these with me standing 5 feet away. 2 coiled. It was a up and down season.

Looks like he needs another year;-)

I think the bridgers lockup actually get a little better with age, they seem to beak in so to speak. Bending the jaw tips up also help with lock up a little.

I did a lot of modifications and tinkering around with the dogless bridgers and have a bunch of #3 dogless bridgers that I use but any new traps I get will only be no bs extremes and extreme jrs. And all the ones of them that I have are 4 coiled. All I use is 4 coiled.
