Will a MB 550 break a coons foot? I just released one, and he def did not want to put any weight on that foot. I understand it's probably sore, but didn't know if anyone actually knew if it would break it. Thanks

Why are you releasing nest raiders?

Ive always liked raccoons, I think they're a very interesting animal. Im just after coyotes. I do understand you can't control what you catch, but that's the second one this week at that trap.

The biggest problem with a trap that size is that there is room for a coon to chew on its foot.

Offsets will help, if you are wanting to release coons. They'll self release some times in them.

Benjamin Franklin proposed that the Wild Turkey be the symbol of our country. But some people like the predator that destroys their nest. Wow!

Well thank god that didn't happen. Can you imagine a turkey on everything instead of a Bald Eagle! laugh

Not to digress but bald eagles are scavengers and thieves. Grew up watching them wait for ospreys to catch fish and do all the work before they would harass the osprey enough to drop the fish and steal their catch. To your question if you are wanting to catch coyotes and release coons, id run 450s.

Coon all get a ride to the train station with me.

I have had them chew there feet a lot in 550s, skunks too, but never seen a broken bone from it. I have tried not to put weight on a foot that has fallen asleep, I would assume it was just numb and he wanted to put dustance between you and his foot as fast as possible.

They’re not a bird of prey. That determines its legality to hunt.

I think the point was letting coons go, after trapping. I thought this was a trapper forum, not a PETA forum.

Did it get below freezing? That foot could have froze solid. I don't release things in freezing temps if I don't absolutely have to.

… if you think they’re interesting and don’t want to cause them any discomfort

… quit coyote trapping … even with stiff tension those dang self destructive idiots will find a way lol

The raccoon isn't his target animal; he said he's going after coyotes. If he's not targeting the coons, I see nothing wrong with letting them go.
