There's a man hunt going on over my street right now by helicopter. The helicopter is flying back and forth with a very bright spotlight about 1/2 mile from my house. It's mostly staying above the woods. The dispatcher for our Sheriff's department told me they are looking for 2 men.

I notified my neighbors, whose numbers I have. My neighbor whose farm the helicopter was mostly hovering over, wasn't at home. He called the sheriff's department and they told him they just caught them.

There's a jail just on the other side of the closest town. I don't know if the fugitives escaped from there or if something else happened.

My dogs are all hyped up and ticked off. Hopefully they settle down soon

Diane asked me if it was okay to take the dogs out and I told her nobody is going to approach 800 plus pounds of large dogs.

Few years ago, kept hearing sirens.
Then a helicopter.

Walked out back, and they were lighting up the woods behind my house, neighbors pasture, creek, slowly back and forth.

Seems a 14 yo stole a car, robbed a fast food joint, then wrecked and ran.
Into.the woods.
Sheriff's office " released the hounds".
Kid couldn't give up fast enough, lol

Last year there was a manhunt in my neighborhood. There was a helicopter and at least two drones in the area.

My buddy has a house a quarter-mile down the road. His wife comes home from work after dark. She takes some stuff out of her SUV, takes it in the house and comes back out for the rest and there's a man standing in her driveway.

She ask him who he is and what he is doing there but he did not respond. She went back inside and called me since her hubby was at work. I grab my gun and am ready to head down there when she tells me a state cop just came flying into her driveway.

Turns out the guy was a non-verbal dementia patient that had wandered off from his home (where he lived with family) some seven miles away. The helicopter had spotted him and directed a drone to his location to keep an eye on him until the cops could show up.

My buddy's wife said within a few minutes after the first cop showed up, two other cops and EMT's also pulled in.

I grew up near Berks County Prison. Prison breaks were not uncommon. The standing rule was that when those sirens started going off we kids stopped whatever we were doing and got home ASAP.

The search light is just a distraction, lol
with FLIR it's not needed except to make the perp think they're looking where he's not.....
