I like robins. They are the first ones to arrive here in spring.

Stop giving them free benefits and they will deport themselves.

The robins are out of here right before the first heavy frost. They don’t return until greens are poking up and worms and ground crawling bugs start appearing in the spring.

I think that’s true. Some years it seems all the Robins are gone, then a week or so later I start seeing them on the river. Probably a northern group that moves in.

Snowy, it is very uncommon. we will hunt them as they are good eating, similar to dove. I only saw a few last year. None this year. still no ducks down here. Just went on a 90 mile ride to look for ducks on all the potholes I hunted. Not a single duck!!! I suppose they are hanging with the ducks because this will be the 24th year since our duck decline and by far the absolute worst. And folks, we had ducks before that. Savell has gone with me duck hunting but it was when the migration pattern was shifting. yet we limited out but the volume of birds was well below the norm. all of our soybean fields have been replaced with pastureland.

Interesting. They must be staying up north of you someplace. Ducks need open water to stick around. Been some great winters for the most part in most states north of you. We still have thousands of geese here rivers are open so they stay as far north as to where to water is open.
