got this nice Washington coon this morning. wondering if anyone has any advice on dispatching coons. There tough little critters.

that sucks, lol. Starting to see a bunch of yote and fox tracks around... today I'm gonna pressure wash my traps and wax them cuz it's gonna be a balmy 40 degrees f!!!!

What traps you using Cajun?

currently got a yote set a coon set a cage trap for coon and 2 hog snares....but my dad is about to order me 3 yote traps and 3 coon traps.

Darn! Make sure your trap is bedded solid and no wobble, your pan tension is good (around 4 pounds) and the pan is straight and right on the edge of the dog. Sometimes, if one or all of those is off, the yote can detect the movement and pull their foot up quick, resulting in a poor catch or no catch at all

how many traps does everybody run??

Usually around 10 but haven't had any out for a while lately. I have somewhere around 50 or 60 traps but I need somewhere to put them lol

lol. Well they don't do much good if you don't have the land to put them on. I live on 20 acres so that's all I trap on, but I'm planning on extending my line down to the river soon, probably going to try for otter in the spring (late winter really)

yeah I'm about to move onto 30 acres of woods with 50 acres of overgrown pasture and a 40 acre field that I am planning on getting permission to trap on....so 120 acres of paradise lol.....oh and a bayou lol

EDIT: I am only moving on the 30 acres the other property is our neighbors not mine lol
