otterman OP trapper Joined: Dec 2006 SW Alaska	I know this has come up in the past but I need to replace my rope in my rope along what size and type are you guys all using The one I currently have is slipping do to a lot of dirt and crap on the rope I believe it is 3/8” We get out of life only as much as we really want and work hard enough to achieve

mike mason trapper M Joined: Apr 2012 new york	Use 1/2"- 3 strand rope. The climbing/bull rope is too slick for the cog to grip.

Super Wide trapper S Joined: Jan 2014 Alaska	1/2 inch. With a heavy twisted strand to grab the come-a-long part. AIH has a good rope for it, it's greenish blue rope with blue dots in the rope. Works great. My Super Wide will pull your broken down 4 stroke, up a hill backwards, with you on it!

alaska viking "Made it two years not being censored" A Joined: Dec 2007 40 years Alaska, now back to O...	I used 1/2" Blue Steel for my airboat. It was incredibly strong, but at times would slip a little. I also used 3-strand poly. The stretch can be very helpful. Just doing what I want now.
