Closes thing I have seen to that shape was boot hanger. But no idea with top part like it is how that would work? That is my guess.

Here is what I found.
The metal stakes in your image are landscape or garden staples, and they’re incredibly versatile for outdoor use. Here’s what they’re typically used for:

Securing ground fabric like weed barriers, erosion control mats, or landscape fabric.

Anchoring drip irrigation tubing so it stays in place and doesn’t shift or float.

Holding down netting or fencing, especially for gardens or small animal enclosures.

Pinning artificial turf or sod to the ground during installation.

If you had a pole suspended from the ceiling, or on a rack, you could put a drying pelt in each dip and easily slide that device on and off it, though the gap. It would be a decent way to hold the pelts far enough away from each other to maintain good airflow.

All the ones I've ever seen are "U" shaped and alot small than the ones in the picture. They're almost twice as long as the paint can in the middle. Do you have a link or a Pic. Im not saying they aren't would just like to see some

1/4 inch diameter material? Cut them in half, re-weld the halves together hooks out for mink/coon drags, they would be too small for coyote but would make some old school drags pretty easily.
