Love me some ice fishing, perch especially. Picked up this 14" mama a couple weeks ago on Lake Gogebic.

Perch are much better than crappie IMO. Nice, firm meat and not "fishy" tasting at all. Best freshwater fish there is.

OK photo choped. Should be good eating. Most of the big perch I have caught had white spots on the gills was told bye people not to eat. Might have missed some eating? Anybody have an opinion ?

perch are very good eating fish, much firmer than crappie meat, number one eating fish around here, anyone else ice fish or spearing pike, ????

I took enough pics and measurements to have a reproduction made, but let her go. It beat my previous best by half an inch, but I know there's bigger ones out there.
