Just in case anybody is interested in that fact. This is just for cats being shipped to the receiving agents in the USA. We can't ship cites species direct to Canada.

Last year I sent some cats that had offers of $50 or less at the local sales but up at FHA they averaged $314. Anyway I was checking in with the company to see about getting some on the first sale and found out that they don't have enough cats to bother with the paperwork for the first sale, so everything will be held in Wisconsin for the June sale.

It will change how I decide to market those cats since I'd rather have the money sooner than mid summer.

Carl - I know those arrangements mess with your financial plans but I think it makes great sense from every angle. I think it will benefit cat trappers in the long run. Seems to me you could try your cats at the Klamath sale and if you don’t like the price, you will still have time to get them to Wisconsin for the June sale.

If you don't have a pickup close how does an individual ship to Wisconsin? I didn't see anything on FHA's site.

All I heard about was bobcats. They didn't have enough received so far to monkey with all the US Fish & Wildlife monkey business for the first sale.

Get a box. Put pelts in box. Take to post office.

You lost me at "Take to the post office"

None of them are perfect but I would rather take my chances with UPS.

Nancy, that's not how Carl does it. He steals the bag I left in his truck after the K-falls sale, drops cats in and has someone sew it closed. then ships it to them. No box involved. Just to give him a hard time. I have been so busy I have not had a chance to put any furs up, might have to drive him over a new shipping bag.

Most of the better bobcats are taken well after the January receiving date so makes since.
Only issue I see is if you have so so cats they will right there besides the nicer Western cats.

Dropped off fur to KS agent last week and he told me he does plan on running a route around April 5th. Appears FHA updated things and it's now listed.
