Any places need beaver tails i have atleast 50 of them so far. Doesn't matter the price just want to them used well.

They sell them on the trap shed forum here regularly.

Well thats not bad at all i was looking around couldn't find anything online for companies thay were buying.

I used to buy them all the time from people here, until the tannery I used closed, they tanned them and would dye them in colors, I did find a guy in Wyoming that will tan but not dye them, it's expensive per one tail, then dye them my self but useable he does a great job of sanding them down and them being pliable though, dyeing them is messy, don't wish to do that but if you figure in buying raw tails and then having to skin and flesh them plus mailing from the seller to me as the buyer, it's simply cheaper to dye them after paying for him to tan and break them down pliable enough for my wallets and belt work, I just make sure he only sends the size I need, works for me.

No one in the USA does them and dyes them decently until I found this feller, lots of places on the world does them if you wish to have 500 done at a time LOL then shipping is a killer and you have no idea what they used to tan them with as they don't have many rules out of the USA !

Anytime I ever advertised them on the trap shed I seemed to get inquiries from states that have beaver bounties. Not sure why.....

I stopped selling beaver tails because of all the bounty frauds. If a trapper is legit and wants a few tails to make tail oil, shouldn’t have an issue with the tails chopped into pieces prior to shipping.

In my case I've always asked what the end use was and unless I got a good answer I declined.

The bounties……lol. Manitoba Infrastructure and the RMs I trap for wanted the tails as proof. I told them that this will be all based on trust. They were given my number by someone who started trusting me. I told them that I got a freezer full of tails and could bring them 5-10 every few days and make a killing. As soon as they think I’m ripping them off, they can stop calling. When the RM over pays, I let them know, but the gov doesn’t think they’re paying me enough and usually double my catch when sending in for payment approval. I usually send them a pic with the beavers and some background they should be able to recognize.
I sell my tails to Clint Boyd at Clint’s Trading Post. He buys em by the thousands, I think a lot come from Quebec? Shipping raw tails across the line would obviously involve permits. He pays $2-5CAD a tail and nothing smaller than 4.5” across when fresh. Once a year there’s a small rendezvous close to his place and I’ll drop my tails off at his shop. Usually sends a check for around $100 in the mail……it’s something.

Interesting stuff Shakey. I've got a tail deal going as well but it involves me taking them to Idaho. Shipping tails is a killer when they're only worth $1-2 bucks and the shipping is about that as well.
