I have a smart phone, but almost everything it can do is turned off....I can text, look up some googely stuff, get the weather and that's about it.....oh, it gets calls too, lol

I get 3 days on a charge. photos are good....

I got a Motorola, you can get them for about a hundred bucks or a little more....I have no need for a thousand dollar phone when this thing does everything I need.

Once you get used to using them, a smart phone is hard to live without IMO. I resisted at first too, but I'd about be lost without it these days. Pictures are great, as are the videos and the facetime calls with my boy at college are worth the learning curve to me.

I was stubborn too, finally my wife got me an android for father's day, and I retired the flip phone. Doesn't slide into the pocket as easy, but it is more convenient in the techno world we live in.

Pain in the arse to learn. Too many functions lol
Slow and steady wins the race
I had to learn not to keep breaking them.
They're way bulkier than your use to with a flip too.

Got my Dad a flip because he said he couldn't get anything else figured out.
So I got him another flip. I think his Amish friends use it more than him

Part of me would LOVE to go back. I’ve become too dependent on my smart phone for every day stuff. But I have internet at work and at home.

Honestly, I don't understand the resistance to full phones. Being in business having the ability to email, send invoices/proposals/contracts, text, take and send payment, type up, print and send documents, share photos, order inventory, research projects, pull up aerial photos, you name it is a must in my book. Actually, my least favorite thing of all to do is make an actual phone call.

Matter of fact my laptop goes pretty much unused these days.

Worst part of flip phone is pushing the button up to 3 times per letter to send a text. When I switched that made a big difference.

I generally het one of the cheapest unlocked phones when I destroy my old one. Last time I spend about $80 more for a noticeably better camara I have not used yet.

A very important way to save money is do not buy contract phones and buy an unlocked phone. Look for a one generation back or refurbished like new. The generational jumps in tech have greatly slowed down, so you're not missing much if you don't have the latest greatest with all the bells and whistles. Even on board memory storage isn't as big a deal now with cloud storage. Most new bells and whistles are around the edges like cameras and things it can do. Unless you're big into media content creation, you won't use most of that stuff anyway. Then take it to a pay as you go provider like trac phone.

Android phones can be a pain in the rear mine is terrible in direct sunlight it dims so much you about have to put your coat over your head to turn it back up if you know how to do it. If you get one and have questions go to YouTube lots of tutorials on there.

If they still make them I will go back to a flip. I hate carrying around this stove brick with me all the time.

I have an Android that folds. Slips in my shirt pocket and doesn't stick out.

About four years ago I thought I was the only person left on the planet to still be using a flip phone. I have a trapper friend who is more of a Ludite than I am who always gave me a hard time for not have a smart phone.
I finally got one, the learning curve was very fast, don't know why I waited so long. BTW, I have an android, Samsung.

Note 10 here and it is a brick to tote around. Best I've found is "tactical" pants that have pockets that take an ar mag. Pants with standard phone pockets are to shallow if they fit at all. It'll fit just fine in jeans back pocket but not a good location as I've cracked a screen sitting on one.

Some of the old phones stopped working if the technology was out dated in the past or that’s what they said would happen.
