I got this today and glanced at it and thought house cat and forgot about it. Then my wife asked me about it and wondered if it was a coyote. I said it was a cat, and she said it was too big. So I looked again and I think it's a Bobcat.
The backs of the ears, right front leg spots, overall shape and size. What are your professional opinions?

It looks like a bobcat based on the spots showing on the inside of the front leg and head. However, it appears to have a long tail unless the terrain is giving us an optical illusion in that snapshot. Most likely a barn cat based on those facts.

Here is the original photo, it looked like weeds laying over just behind the cat. But when I first looked I thought house cat too.

I have changed my opinion, I am now going with a bobcat. It is too thick and high off the ground. I believe the tail appears to be longer due to color and weed growth in the background.

Look at the clearance between the cats belly and the ground. From that photo distance, I doubt you could see that much clearance underneath a house cat being built closer to the ground.

Set some cat traps and find out.
I've seen some long legged house cats, but that tail doesn't really look like a tail ... sort of.

If it's a hse cat, it'll be easy to catch, and you will likely recognize it.

We can't trap cats where I am. I need to go out to that camera tomorrow and see if there is a weed laying over where it would have been in that photo.

I agree with bobcat, I think it captured an odd shadow on the backside of the cat.

At first glance seeing the stripes on the front legs bobcat, the ? TAIL in that picture says large barn cat, however the long tail might be part of that ?brush pile? behind the cat so tend to rule out barn cat and go with bobcat plus add in that the tail? Is low on the backside
