Is the wood on the cubby painted white? If i lived up in snow country I might be tempted to do that.

I'd also want to try double ended cubbies- a lot less cat refusals if they can see through it. Im purdy sure Cattrax posted a set up using a square of wire he would make a tunnel out of then brush in the top with juniper and trap at both ends.
