There isn't much info on these types of traps.i know they would be bulky and cumbersome but if you could set 1 in the den entrance wouldn't you have a good chance of catching all of the beaver in a single setting providing its legal in your state.

You would never be able to lift it when full. Plus you wouldn't want to use them if you wanted the fur. I would think they would be bit pretty bad.

Not sure about other states but up here we have max dimensions of 7x7x40 on colony style traps. I’ve heard of people getting small beavers in that size and I’ve caught a small otter in one once that was made of old lobster trap wire . You would have to use a heavy gauge wire panel like that if you were going to attempt one for beaver.

I saw a company that makes the single beaver live traps. The thing weighed 28lbs and held one beaver. I can't imagine how big and clunky one that held multiple would have to be. Be pretty cool to see it full though!

Sure. I don't see why not,,,, other than it it'll have to be big and cumbersome. lol I don't know if you could make it big enough for 5-6 beavers though and still fit in the entrance, but if you found a long deep run, you'd be in business. I'd imagine you'd wanna unload it in the creek unless you got a small crane to haul it out.

Trap would be be darn neer 8-9ft long to accommodate a full colony. I use them in culverts by the roads, especially if they're either pipe or concrete box culverts.

24" muskrat colony trap, most folks would say this can't happen too.... you might be surprised how little of a trap would hold 6-8 beaver...
