Keep an eye on those equities.
When they decide to cut rates again, commodities are going to be king.

Why are we valuing silver in fiat currency? I'm hoping to trade mine for some fiat today.

You’re not wrong,,
But if you truly believed that,,,, why would you sell anything for paper money? Its taking up room and tired of looking at it.

Dirt,,when you sell your silver
Describe how the transaction goes down please,,, very curious
Does the buyer test it? How are they actually confirming its authenticity??do they record your SS#
Or anyone who’s recently done a transaction in silver/gold

Yeah, I'm enjoying watching it rise today I'm not sure how a person pays capital gains on selling silver. Most of the coins and rounds I've bought I've done so through a major bullion selling company and they have never sent me a federal 1099 or any tax work for what I bought in a single year so how does the IRS know what I bought my silver for in the past..? Same thing buying "junk" old silver coins, no paper work of how much I bought at it for, so how does capital gains get enforced? And when I've sold a couple of rounds here or there, no paper work is given me or tracks me so I'm very confused on how capital gains actually happens. Yeah, I can see paper silver buying and selling because it is tracked in someone's tradable equities portfolio but I can't see how small amounts of physical silver bought and sold could really be tracked. And if so, then the bullion selling companies should have big warning notices on their web pages saying anything bought (or sold) here may be subject to capital gain tax at some point in time. Perhaps, I'm just way too naive...

If I remember correctly.......the dealer is only required to send a 1099 if the amount they buy is over 1000 ounces of bullion or over $1000 face value in coins.
Nevertheless, it is still the individual's legal responsibility to claim any gain on schedule D A where does a non-whale buyer (far, far from being a whale) learn about such rules, by osmosis out of the air...? Probably doesn't matter anyway because there's nothing from stopping the federal government by doing a FDR situation again if they feel like it, especially now with silver being classified as a "strategic metal" (or was it "mineral'?). Although it might not be as easy now to execute as it was in the 1930s...
