I'm happy with how these are turning out! I'm pondering what others use for feet? I'd like some low profile rubber feet on the bottom. Any wooden cutting board I've ever had, the ones it came with have worn off/come off. Any recommendations?

Really nice work. No suggestions for feet but you could attach 2 D rings on the short end of both. After the wood cures: In case of a home invasion tie a rope between the D rings of the two boards, put it over your head like a poncho with one cutting board covering the vitals on your chest, the other covering the vitals on your back and feel confident having protection against a bullet.

For myself. I'd make them to sell them, but it would have to be an obscene amount of money to make it worth my time. So maybe!

Well, folks tend to spend obscene amounts for such things. I bet you could do well with them.

I would leave them as is. Just use both sides.

I do a lot of woodwork, (spoons, spatulas, bowls, cutting boards, and serving boards): and sell at craft fairs as well as ml rendezvous. The closer you are to big cities, the higher the price can be. For instance, midsized serving spoons usually sell for about $18, but near big cities the price goes to $24. Very nice, I have not seen anything made out of that wood, beautiful. I vote for no feet on them.

in most things kitchen when we want a board or wet stone to not slide , we use a cloth often damp between the board and the counter or the wet stone and the counter this does a lot to stop sliding and it catches juices , easily laundered so it is clean.

if you wear out the primary side you could always get more use by drilling out the screw holes and filling them with dowels and glue then predrilling the used side and mounting up the feet again.

I make a few cutting boards, I never put feet on them. both sides are for cutting.

probably the best argument for feet is one of the best arguments for a nice thick cutting board in the first place

it raises your cutting surface you work best with the top of the cutting board just below your belly button.


counters are typically 36" if your 5'7" that probably works out decently

when you are 6'2" that is more like 42 inches standing tall and if I spread my feet a little wider than shoulder width it is 40

when I built my kitchen my counters are 38 it was as high as I could go and not run into the window a 1 1/4 inch thick cutting board is a very comfortable 39 1/4 for slicing with a chefs knife.

They are beautiful. Osage end grain must have been a bugger to mill.

Growing up in East Central Kansas and West Central Missouri I remember having miles of Hedge rows around. And a nice Quail population. Now there are hardly any of either around any longer.

There are all kinds of chair feet that would be suitable for feet on them boards. Many screw on or nail on styles available, i bet you'd have to predrill in that wood!

Was thinking of an appropriate sized bung plug cut down and epoxied in a matching recess.. beautiful work btw!!
