Wondering about the Constitutional Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2025 (H.R. 38/S. 65) Will this bill get full floor votes in the House & Senate? Seems like the best chance for passage would be before the mid terms, especially if the Democrats regain a majority in the House.

Seems to me, for this bill to become law, it may need to move to floor votes soon and to the President's desk for signing. Is there any pressure on House (Johnson) and Senate (Thune) Republican leadership to schedule floor votes. I am hoping that Trump will push this legislation also, as he has stated he would sign such a bill.

If nothing else, I think it would be a good thing to force all the members of the House and Senate to have to commit one way or the other by voting on the bill. Too often, these representatives talk a good game when asking for your vote, but are content to let the legislation stay in committee and not have to vote on it. I am afraid that the window to pass this into law will be closing soon.

Nationwide concealed carry reciprocity bills were introduced in 2011, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2021, 2022, 2023, and this year.

It'll probably be taken about as seriously this year as it has in years past. It's not really a thing politicians want to pass, it's one of those things where they want to be able to say "vote for me so I can pass law XYZ". If they actually passed it, then they couldn't run on it next time.

Why not have nationwide constitutional carry, no permit needed, instead of nationwide reciprocity for carry permits (permission slips)?

It would be like they saw our concerns with it all from the get go
