I leave stuff in the truck or the side x side all the time. The other day while fine tuning some of my bobcat sets, I went back to the side x side 3 or 4 times. All I was intending to do was add a CD spinner to 1 set. I decided that I didn't need to bring my whole pack. (to save time and energy!) It was supposed to 10 minute trip. . I was there for over an hour. Forgot my gloves, Needed bait, then I needed the hatchet, added a set , etc. I should've just grabbed everything the 1st time. Today I was checking out a potential beaver hut to trap through the ice. Walked 600 yds to the hut and realized the spud bar was missing from the calf sled I was dragging w/ my gear. I walked almost all the way back to the truck. It rolled out when I went the down the hill onto the ice!

Sounds like one of my normal days. Yesterday, not once but twice I got a drowner bag filled and cable attached only to realize the lock was running the wrong direction.

Trail cameras and fresh snow have broke a lot of trapper’s hearts.

I was sitting on the couch and noticed that I only had on 1 sock and was holding the other one in my hand and couldn't remember if I was putting them on or taking them off.

I forgot my driver at the last set twice this week. I also repaired a weld in the T handle of said driver yesterday, set it outside to cool while I gathered some cable restraint stuff in my basket. Walked out the door stepped over the driver on my way. Went to hang a cable and had no driver. I am gonna start carrying 2 as punishment.

I believe it is caused by eating too much birthday cake with your name on it.

Oh so true. Got to go over things a couple of times so I know I haven't forgot anything to go set. But still end up forgetting something once in a while.

OK good. so it's not only me. Numerous times I have found my setters at beaver huts. I now paint them orange now so hopefully I can see them before I leave. 2 days ago my Grandson found my hat at one of my bobcat Cubby's. The list is too numerous to list here but trust me it's a LONG list!

When I get up off the couch to get something, I sometimes forget what I was even getting up for.
The worst is misplacing your safeties when you get home, then check the pics of the sets you just made about 30 miles away…..
There they are, safe and sound.

I “lost” a great dirthole trowel once. Couldn’t remember where I laid it down. Went back to several locations and sets and couldn’t find it.
I had taken some pics of catches and bingo there it was in background of one of those catches, stabbed into the ground near a small brushy weed about same height as the t-handle sticking up.
When I stood up and looked around for it, it was hidden by that weed.
If I had t taken a pic of that coyote I’d have never found it: I used my digger hammer on that remake and never thought to look for it after I was packing up and moving on to next location.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.
