Im not sure if anyone else does this or has tried it. My son gave it the name cat mud. Whenever I catch a cat, I drain all the turds still the intestines in a container and mix in enough urine from the bladder to make the turds into a paste. I then add some glycerin to keep it from drying out. I use it to freshen up sets. I seem to have an increase in catches at location I use it, but im not sure if it just because the cats happen to be moving in after I use it, or if it is actually pulling cats in that I have been missing. I plan on testing it out this season on trail cameras to try to get a better idea. Just curious if anyone does it

If traps work like the Antis say......I would have no fingers.

I think SwampWolf made a post way back when about doing the exact same thing. Could be mistaken on who it was, but Swampwolf comes to mind.

I do it for wolves, what we call wolf pudding. Has become my favorite lure for them.

I've read about that type of lure recipe from old books. They called it "animal matrix" in some of the formulations that I was reading. Urine and Droppings mixed together. There's definitely something to it, I notice increase activity with just turds when I find them and put them on sets.

That's an old wolfers trick. Great way to ensure full utilization of everything you catch.

An old government trapper showed me using that method for coyotes. He called it "old nasty".

Yeah...that was me.

Been doing this for decades. Can't buy a cat lure as good as that.

Is there a way you could preserve this?

I toss it in the freezer over the summer. The glycerin slows stuff down, and I've heard of guys adding SB. But I don't know that SB will truly preserve it. This time of year though it rides around in the bed of the truck/snowmachine and the glycerin prevents it from freezing and it stays just fine.
