The back feet and lower legs had patches of fur all missing and where it was missing was red and kind of scabbed up. I'm not 100% certain as we didn't have mange in North Idaho. But it did not look good. I hate to not put it up but didn't want to risk it.

Well you were a little farther north than I am in Idaho, but I've caught two wolves and at least one coyote with mange here, and probably 10-15 years ago we had the lice pretty bad in them.

Third catch in this rub set with 3 different lures used. Same circle of rocks for blocking each time. Maybe I'll have to name it the campfire set hehe. This coyote was rubbed so being as there was no foot damage and its foot wasn't froze I kicked it loose. Figure good karma next season.

Caught this big female today in a set I wasn't real confident in. Poke hole with bait on the steep bank, lure down low. I turned her loose. Got 2 more new cat sets out as well.

Thanks. Hoping for a Tom to come by, I'm sure it's just a matter of time. Gonna hike to a different canyon tomorrow and maybe get some more sets in.

Couple days ago blocked off the set I've caught a bobcat and 2 coyotes in heavy with rocks and sticks. Today I had a red fox in it. Other than slightly rubbed hips it looks to be a nice fox so I will tan it. First pic is the original set, last pic is today's remake.

I have a question. What happens if you accidentally snare a bobcat after the quota closes? The reason I ask is because the property I'm on is loaded w/ coyotes. Right now I'm concentrating on catching a bobcat in a foothold. (With very little success I might add!) We have intentions of coming back w/ snares after the quota closes. It would just my luck to finally get one after the season closes.

Gotta turn it into fish&game, unless you happen to fall into the 24 hour of closure notice.
We can not waste them but fish & game can

Let me sugar coat this

That's what I figured. What a waste. Fingers crossed that doesn't happen. Sorry to hijack your thread. For some reason I thought I was on the MT chat thread.
