I collected the urine from a bobcat, what do I need to do to preserve it?

Typically you can use a liquid preservative or sodium benzoate to ensure that amonia smell doesn't happen.

It wont prevent it. It just preserves it from most bacteria

Ammonia is natural its the sewer smell that is caused by a anerobit bacteria that is hard to prevent.

You can always freeze urine for later use. That is what I do.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!

Any urine that is clean collected and placed into a clean container will remain good material for basically forever. It will darken in time and the odor will change a little but will still be high quality material. Ammonia is a natural byproduct of aging urine.

Some may choose to freeze urine, which can be done also as stated. The odor will bleed from the urine while in the freezer you will find out, so best put it into a non food use freezer.

Right, wrong, or otherwise, I’ve added a little glycerine and a few sprinkles of sodium benzoate. It’s worked for me. I don’t keep it from year to year though.
