Late last week when the bitter cold and snow moved in I went and fired the few traps I had out.
Wasn't sure I would be able to get to them with the snow and wind they were predicting.
Went up yesterday to look around and found fresh cat tracks in the snow on an ATV trail that crosses through a brushy draw. I decided to pop in a set in the snow and frozen ground on each end of the trail.
Went to check my 2 traps this afternoon and had this very mad and wet cat waiting patiently wearing a #3 DLS with a step down pit pan. He weighed in at 26.9 lbs at the local bait shop on their shipping scale.
That's a big cat for this area.
