That’s what I was wondering about dirt saying he’s going to be paying capital gains tax??
When they did the tests,,,, what were the tests?? I never said I was going to pay it. If there is a check, there is a paper (electronic) trail.

I never said I was going to pay it. If there is a check, there is a paper (electronic) trail. Not when I've sold it. I know of the couple of instances where things were "bartered" using metal. Until they have 24/7 overhead drone observation of individual people, they can't stop such bartering.

The time to trade gold into silver was a year ago. silver should outperform gold with ease with all the tail wind's !

Maybe, maybe not.
Where do you see the GST falling too?
Is there a possibility of a silver correction? I could see 30 to 40 percent. Gold isn't correcting 40 percent.

If you’re not ready to get out of metals, now is the time to convert silver to gold. The ratio says so…. It's a wild guess, but I think you may be right. If anything makes a big correction it will be silver first.

Not much to report as of yet today other than the close on the Shanghai market last night was $128 USD

If you’re not ready to get out of metals, now is the time to convert silver to gold. The ratio says so…. It's a wild guess, but I think you may be right. If anything makes a big correction it will be silver first. Here is my thought on this Mark. Since Nixon shut the gold window and we were taken off the gold standard in 1971, we have seen two drastic plunges like the one that is occuring March 2011 38:1 December 1979 15:1 In between those two time periods it stayed pretty much range bound between 40 to 60. After the GFC ended we saw gold level and then start climbing while silver stayed cheap. IMHO what is happening silver catching up to gold causing the increase as much as industrial pressures. Starting right now from today I can see a window for silver to correct 30 to 40 percent. Gold? I don't think we will see 3500 dollar gold again. Now putting it on the other foot, I see a 15 to 1 ratio, there are lots of pundits who do. If we do see that I won't lose any sleep not swapping gold for silver, it isn't worth the risk. To each there own though, I traded some silver for gold 10 days ago, if I had waited until today I would have saved 5 oz. No worries though, it part of the strategy.

It's all a crapshoot it still has a long way to reach 15-1 which history shows it could be! there is not demand for gold as of Silver not even close .

There is a path to 15.to 1. I think it's pretty narrow.
Anyhow in the end as long as a feller is in the game and holds silver or gold it's all good

You are selling coins for melt value now. Which in most cases, should be more than collector value.

Is the value of a coin condition not make a difference with silver prices now? Depends. Coins with collectible value, yes, they still are way up based on melt but still carry the premium, however, I'm not sure it is reflected as much as before. I'm sitting on my ASE, Morgans, Peace and artsy silver. Silver bullion - rounds and bars, not really. Thats what I sold yesterday, I went through and picked out some of the real generic and scruffy stuff. I havent even started to look at my junk and constitutional stuff

What was mid range numi stuff is now being sold for melt.
A Morgan dollar that was worth say 70 or 80 dollars when when melt value was 25 is now melting at 87. Might be able to get a little extra because it's a morgan. Not from a dealer.
It goes the same down the line, a numismatic quarter that sold for 10 dollars when melt was 4 dollar is now melting at 20 dollars. Collectors aren't paying above melt at these prices on that stuff.
Now take a Morgan CC that would sell for 7 or 800, that market is still the same.

I've been contemplating the idea of 15 to 1 GSR all night.
What does that even look like?
If gold doesn't change one penny that puts silber at 350$ What will physical liquidity look like then?
Of course gold won't stay static, so say 500 dollar silber and 7500 gold? What does society look like then? Where are we going to sell our silver? The local coin shops won't have the money. I suppose the market will figure it out, it will be a paradigm shift.
At what point does manufacturing say enough is enough and find an alternative? Then what?
Silver has seen 15 to 1 once and that was during the Hunt Bros attempt to take down the silver market. It saw 17 to 1 right before Nixon took us off the gold window, that ratio only happened because the price of gold was fixed and silver wasn't.
I only see one window for a 15 to 1 and that is the world transitions away from fiat currency.
I also see a 20 or 30 percent correction coming, all bull markets have them. At what level will it be is the question and how will it go after that. Anyhow it's all good if one is in the game.

Dirt,,when you sell your silver
Describe how the transaction goes down please,,, very curious
Does the buyer test it? How are they actually confirming its authenticity??do they record your SS#
Or anyone who’s recently done a transaction in silver/gold I called ahead yesterday and was told 90% spot value. I drove about 100 miles and took my silver in to the shop today. No testing as it was stamped .999 and JM silver. No SS#. Scanned my I.D. Sold one gold coin for melt value of 93% spot. Cash money. Silver was $100 per ounce sold for.
