Exactly that, I will be in Central ish Oklahoma for a couple weeks and I feel like I do ok with the normal skunk/coon sets but was wondering if anyone changes tactics or lures for the breeding season.

They are just another weasel not known to be picky eaters I don’t think any special baits would matter marshmallows still working here my skunk liked cheesy green beans.

If you capture a female in a cage trap,,,,,that cage will slay skunks…..

I will carry on as usual, I may try messing with some female urine as I come across it. Obviously multiple sets at each location.

I know i have about twice as good of a chance catching a skunk in a coyote or cat set if I'm using a lure with skunk essence in it. When the male skunks start fighting during the rut they will spray each other. If skunks are looking for other skunks during rut something that smells like skunk would make sense to me.
I make a pretty loud call lure loaded with skunk essence, a friend put the lure bottle it in a mason jar last spring and buried it to store it. Said he didn't want it to stink up his shed. I know he had trouble on several occasions of skunks digging up the mason jar and playing with it.

I put a sign on the back of my truck. " I BRAKE FOR DEAD SKUNKS"

I dip a q-tip in quill and stick it in the ground just out of reach of the potential catch circle.
