This video is worth the watch for the entertainment, but it got me to thinking. If you're a water trapper and have problems with trap thieves, how fun would it be to hide an air tag inside a beaver carcass and track the thief down at his house later. lol

You could also hide one in the bottom of DP. Most thieves would never take the time to check it before they run off with it.

My kids bike got stolen at his college (cut the cable lock) if it happens again we'll know where it went. They sell bike reflectors and many other items that hide an airtag.

That sucks! I hope they find out who did it and give the kid a college sized arse whooping!

I don't know much about Air Tags, but apparently your phone will give you a notification that there is one in close proximity, so you know that you're not being tracked. Anyone else familiar with these?

I have an air tag in my wallet, my kid does too as well as his keys and a few other things just in case, and even on the collar of his girlfriend's cat. I think there are things made to hide or attach them to just about anything.

air tags rely in I phones being near the tag to report a location.
IE... My wife can check and track My dog from several hundred miles away to the foot: when we are traveling However, It is not nearly as accurate when he is out in the pasture as there are no iPhone within a close (15-30 foot) distance/.

If the dog is at the Mall or Grocery store where there are more people, it would work better than if he was chasing a critter down the road.

I have an Air Tag on all three of my quads. I have a case of beer at camp with one inside also. On the kitchen table. Some lowlife breaks in, they’re taking the beer. There’s also a wooden dynamite box with all my battery powered tools in the utility room there. It also has an Air Tag in it too.

Yep they work good! The issue I have is that the person that takes an item with an air tag hidden in the item. Is that person gets a notification of the tracking devise air tag. Then they can destroy the tag or dispose of it and still have the item that they stole.
An excellent tool to use for luggage when traveling if luggage gets lost etc. or for animals attacked to collar etc..

Do they need cell service to work, or do they work off of satellite GPS?

Cell service I believe.

I was elk hunting in Colorado a couple years ago. The next camp down from us had their trailer broken into and all their gear and a four-wheeler were stolen. They had a air tag on the four wheeler. Police recovered it all within about 3 hours. Some meth heads in town.
