I have to fill mine up several times a day. Lucky man to only need to load your stove once a day.

Seasoned wood sure lets my outdoor boiler run like a top a few wet pieces get in the mix and you can smell the creosote seeping out of it.

I really miss my outside wood boiler with the in floor heat.

I’ll bet yours is prettier than mine though Bob. Mines just a big steel box with a hole in the top for loading and two holes for venting. No “glow” in the room when it’s running.

Its not so much how pretty she is and what she looks like physically, it is how she performs that really matters.

Brings back memories of the coal/wood stove in kitchen, wood stove in living room and basement. We would all huddle around the coal stove in the am and eat breakfast before school.

I have a wood burner in my workshop. Fire it up every morning. Wait about an hour then turn the small overhead fan on low. Doesn't take long and I'm down to a tee shirt. Funny how it takes 5 steps before you can even get to burn the wood.

My favorite spot too.
When my kids were little my son would come down first and warm up by that stove, then head up to get dressed. Then down came the two girls. They would stand there in Jammie’s warming up their clothes b4 school. Pretty soon they would both start slowly turning warming all sides while they visited. I used to say they looked like the last two hotdogs spinning at the quickly mart. lol Good memories.

Been running pretty hard on red elm here since the first of the year, I can get about 3 hours out of it, looking at a boiler kinda like the Royall but the portage and main has really caught my attention lately, both look to be good boilers but I need to see them in person first before I buy one.

I run about the same burn time on my wild cherry. Use to have access to some oak but not so much anymore. We have been going thru lots of wood this winter. Going to have to start early again this Spring to get all my cordwood cut and split in our sheds and drying by June 1st.
