Got a quick question for y'all who use alot of these , about how big are the rings on them ? Gonna be making some.and just wanna order some premade ring or lock washers instead of trying to make them . Thanks

Depends on how they are built and the distance between the 2 rods they slide on and the clearance needed to operate. I’d make some test ones out of 12ga wire and test them.

Some I have seen are lock washers that have been pounded even...ALL have been slightly oversized so they slide down faster/easier.
Like Jerry mentioned SOME cages incorporate two rods near the door so that will make a difference in size of washers.

My cages take 1.5 rings to fit the rods but I don’t want to tell you wrong on yours, in emergencies I’ve used lap links but they are bulky. If you wrap 12 ga wire around pipe of the size you need then you can cut and weld rings it’s not that hard depending on the amount you need.

The ones i build i use 1 1/16 inside , 1 5/8 outside by 1/4 inch thick lock washer flattened . but finally welded a cross bar from washer to washer , then you dont need three hands to set.

Lock washer at least 1 inch.
Like said it depends on your set up, and how wide an opening you need.
