Anyone with experience having a luxstone or swanstone walking shower installed.

I've not installed those two specific products but I've installed lots of cultured marble and other types of shower wall panels/kits/systems.. They are all fairly similar.

Eh...wot?

I’ve done quite a few swanstone showers, it’s been a few years but it was good quality, make sure there’s no imperfections in the base before you set it in the cement.

Did a handful of swanstone for a hospital with terazzo bases. Nice stuff, pretty simple to work with as long as you start with a solidly grouted & level base.

Thanks for the feed back. Do you think installation is a DIY install for someone with basic carpentry skills. I read the base is the most important, how hard is it? I see installing most over a mortar base but is it built with an already angle the drain or do you do that with the mortar? Thanks you guys/gals are great.

Oh and got a quote from Kohler to do their 1 day intall with all kohler products. This shower is the standard opening 30x60x about 6ft. Get Ready, they quoted me 18300. I researched to cost of materials and figure the install is 1000 to 1300 an hour for the install. Not an option!!!!

I just removed our jacuzzy tub. Too hard to get into and never used it. I bought the Delta shower pan that didn't require a mortar base. I had enough tile to finish the walls from the original project.

Good luck on your project!

I've installed a lot of these. Look at their videos to give you an idea of install.

The mortar goes on the floor and the base is pressed into it, yes the base is built to be the final look, it’s not too hard.

If you are installing the large panels one piece, measure thrice and cut once. Ive installed hundreds of tile showers most with tile floors some with solid bases of marble or fiberglass. Layout is crucial know b4 you start instead of starting b4 you know how cuts will work out. Good luck with the project
