Mostly Japanese, Austrailian, and Maylasian, but others as well. Probably less than $700. I am the executor of my uncles estate and don't know where to convert it to USD. My credit union won;t do it, and other banks won't unless you are a member. Any help would be appreciated.

I think you need a large commercial bank....That's what I was told when I got a check from Canada after turning in a seal band...no one would cash it and the only bank that might was in NYC.....
I finally gave the check to a Canadian trucker that was delivering lobsters here.

Open an account at one of the banks and deposit the foreign currency. Withdraw as US $ and close the account. Should cost nothing but time.

It may also depend on the age of the foreign money. Some may no longer be worth much value except as collector pieces.

Currency Exchange International in Sioux Falls appears to be more of a service than an actual bank. It appears that Western Union and some of the Walmarts may do it. Here are some locations that are mentioned. Good luck!

We order foreign currency from our local AAA office. Not sure if they will buy it back but their is no commission on member purchases.

Probably all airports in the US, that have International flights, have a currency exchange office.

Expect to pay a hefty exchange fee if you do it at an airport.

As I understand it, any Federal Reserve Bank will do it for you.

I had $15 in Canadian, I know that's really not much, but I was going by US Bank one day and I knew it was in my center console from when I was in Canada. The teller said, "Just to let you know there is a small fee for doing so unless you have over $300 then its free." I said I understand she came back and said, "Your $15 Canadian is worth $10.47 in US." "The exchange fee is $10." We both laughed and laughed and laughed, not really she just handed me back my $15 Canadian and I said thanks for looking. She said "No problem."
