Hello. 2013 Honda Rincon, 4K miles, fuel injection. Accelerating at 15+ mph it wants to cut out. It has a transmission. On hard throttle doesn't want to down or up shift easily and want to cut out. In neutral and steady half throttle plus it will kind of cut out/won't keep a constant rpm. Any ideas on what parts I can start throwing at it? Thank you for your time.

Try a shot of Startron enzyme fuel treatment.

Have you changed or andded oil lately? If you accidentally over filled it could be puking oil into air intake.

How old are the plugs? Does it have a safety switch to limit your speed if your seat belt isn’t hooked?

Please tell us what you find. How is your fuel filter? Any water in your fuel?

Could be many things. Saw this one this past summer…..If a voltage regulator goes bad, it allows excessive voltage. When you ramp up rpm’s, it will cut out or backfire. The VR will also get very hot, and can cook the battery.

Spark plug is 3 years old, 800 miles, NGK Iridium. Never changed the fuel filter but that is one idea. It is in some sub tank, under the regular tank, in a canister type item with the fuel pump... one of those never should need replaced ideas.

If the filter is there it maybe you have to buy a fuel pump also, another one of those great ideas, pump may also be bad just a guess though you’ll need to find someone with a pressure and flow meter to test that.

Fuel injection = take it to dealer.
That's why I am going to stick with carbs as long as possible.

I've heard that a lot, but I find injectors easier to work on than carbs. Pull them out, grab a couple wires with alligator clips on end, clip to a battery and touch the other ends to the prongs on the injector (every injector I've ever seen has the male end of the plug) and watch the fuel spray. If it doesn't spray, or sprays unevenly, you have a problem. If it clicks when you touch the wires to it, it isn't electrical, so you can take a rubber valve stem and put it over the end of the injector, take out the valve core and drill a hole just the size of the little tube on a spray can of carb cleaner and hot glue it in it. Give the can a squirt while touching the wires and you will force cleaner through the injector. A few squirts usually cleans them right up. If not you can often buy a kit and replace the screen in the end of the injector if that is the problem, and the little rubber o rings. Worst case you can buy a new injector and slap it in.

That being said, very few fuel injected ATVs or snowmachines (I believe his Honda might be one of the few exceptions) can be pull or kick started, which is a big advantage of carb fed engines.

It is flashing lights at you? 4 slow flashes and 2 fast for example? Those are error codes that mean something. The manual translates them for you.
