Agreed. I told this story before but...I went to my first Fur Takers convention back in the late 80's with my father-in-law, it was in Bardstown, Kentucky.(?)
Ludy Sheda from Iowa was there selling his goods. Ludy would sell almost anything for a dollar. But he did help trapping a bunch by auctioning
off items when needed for the trapping associations. He also gave kids free stuff too. Anyways, I was greenhorn and didn't know much. I walked up to Ludy's
booth and needed some predator urine for my trapping. Ludy just so happened to have a "special" on Bobcat urine. it was much cheaper that his other
urines, so I bought a gallon. I was a proud trapper and showed my Father in law my purchase. We wandered around a bit and just so happened to be
near Ludy's trailer again when and I see one of his workers zipping up with a jug in his hand. Yep, those jugs were labeled bobcat urine that were on sale. I was hot
and embarrassed! I took that jug back to his booth and demanded my money back....Ludy offered me a beer grinned and said, " Buyer beware." I took
the jug home set in on a shelf and wondered what to do with it. I ended up pouring an ounce of a skunky lure in it shook it up and used as a long distance
call lure at different trap site, ie. brush piles, fence posts, rock piles.
