Oh, well. I'm a preterist. I believe most prophecy is already fulfilled. In preterism, the 144,000 in Revelation are interpreted as a symbolic number representing the faithful remnant of 1st-century Jewish Christians sealed and preserved from the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. Oh, and the rapture isn't in the Bible. I'll be ducking now, as you
all hurl expletives at me....

Seriously, it's not...I know the verse you're thinking of. It's about those who remain meeting Jesus and remaining on earth, while evil is removed, not the other way around.

Right now I’m having amnesia and déjà vu at the same time. I think I’ve forgotten this before.

If you are talking about the millennium the devil is removed but not evil. Man is perfectly capable of that on his own, That brings up the subject of the Levitical system and remembrance of Jesus and the remembrance of sin, as children will be being born in that 1000 yrs. But that is another can of worms.

We are in the millennium.

If we are in the millennium then that means I have missed the catching away and without hope. My faith has been made shipwreck!
Paul had that problem with Alexander the copper smith and Hymenaeus telling people the resurrection was already past. Usually that is brought up about being divorced and remarried is a perpetual sin.

I missed the 7 years.......I missed the Jews turning toward Christ and the return of Christ and the associated bloodshed. Pretty sure we have not missed the tribulation and are not in the millennial reign.

And the fact that you have a Bible ? Thank the Catholics.

Your take on theology is bad as your take on the history of Christianity is equally pathetic. You’re no different than the woke kids who want founders portraits removed because they don’t agree with them .
It’s stunning, really. No wonder St. Nicholas lost his crap and threw hands.

Look up amillenialism.

Amillennialism is an eschatological view interpreting the 1,000-year reign in Revelation 20 symbolically as the current church age, rather than a literal future earthly kingdom. It posits that Christ currently reigns from heaven, Satan is bound regarding deceiving nations, and the church expands during this period. It holds that the Second Coming brings immediate final judgment and eternity, bypassing an earthly millennium.

It's not new. In fact, it's been the predominant view of end times for most of history. What is new, is the rapture, started by someone a few hundred years ago.

I only use that to illustrate a point. He never used the term "purgatory", but he definitely talked about it.

His phrase is actually what made me reconsider the whole diatribe I'd been fed from a Baptist upbringing. Not St. Paul's reference to it . His.

He told them to let the dead bury their own dead. Saving some time and not waiting 11 months less 1 day or more if they were extra sinful, in order to get them in their final resting place with their other dead bed fellows.

While rapture is not mentioned Elijah and Enoch was two examples. Which brings up the problem of getting into Heaven alive. Which might be the reason they could be the 2 prophets that dies and lay in the street 3 days. There is also the thing where Elijah sent King Jeroram a letter years after he had been taken out
(2 Chronicles 21:12-15).
