I use both. If I'm talking with non trapping folks, usually coy-o-tee and with sportsmen usually yote or coy-oat

I think they heard it pronounced that way when they were kids watching Wile E. Coyote cartoons and just never grew up. lol

Like most of you I say Kiy Yoat

I learned it as ki-o-tee but we had none where I grew up until the early 80s, they were a foreign critter. I've since dropped the tee part, ki-yote.

No matter how someone says it, all I want to hear is how'd you kill it.
I like to say it "kyoat", especially around people who have to ask me, "What did you say?", so that I know exactly who I'm dealing with.

Coyote is s Kai-yote but coydog is Koi-dog....how is that right, lol. Yute, yote, coy or kai, kinda like crick or creek, I am able to pick up what you are laying down.

Same as southern folk saying "akern" but pronouncing corn as corn, no such thing as an akern if you ask me, acorns fall from oak trees not akerns.....high fructose kern syrup??? Nah, corn syrup. Do you fry fish in kern meal and eat kern on the cob too?

Honestly though, as long as You don't tell me I have to press one for English, I don't care how you pronounce any word.

Most folks around here say ky-oat unless they are from some place else.
