Headlines are Bitcoin is down about 50% from its high. I don't understand it so I don't follow it, just curious as to why it's crashing. Simple explanation? You know all these data center they're building? It's so they can watch and analyze every single click, they know when people are reading articles. Saying buy and they know when people are are clicking articles saying it's time to panic sell. They treat retail investors like hogs, fatten them up and slaughte. Bitcoin is the perfect medium to transfer wealth from retail to big players.

Bitcoin is down about 50% from its high> Time will tell how stable and sustainable Bitcoin will be. Hard times will strengthen or further decay the Bitcoin investing.
Bitcoin's price has fallen significantly, down about 50% from its all-time high of $126,000. This downturn has been attributed to a combination of factors, including excess leverage, widespread profit-taking by early investors, and broader market sentiment. Despite these challenges, some analysts remain optimistic about Bitcoin's potential to outperform other assets like gold in the long term. The cryptocurrency's price has also been influenced by geopolitical and economic uncertainty, leading to a momentum-driven selloff as investors shift to safer assets

Was waiting to see if it got back into the 50s to maybe get back in.
Right now BTC and other cryptos are suffering the same ills that the stock market suffers. When people are borrowing money to buy into the market, bad things are about to happen eventually.. Margin calls are a ...

Not long enough history on Bitcoin to tell how much volatility it will handle to be sustainable. I don't see it as a scam but like I said time will tell how sustainable the investment avenue will be in hard times.
The worst thing that can happen now is more investors bailing off the ship. If that happens fear for fewer investing will most definitely will weaken the product and having faith in the product.

Most people don't understand the underlying principles of Bitcoin beyond they there's a finite supply of them. Sn ultra simplified explanation of Bitcoin is they it's an ultra secure payment processing system.

I don't understand how the same folks who are enthusiastic about BC, are the same folks who are critical of fiat currency. BC seems to me to be the craziest fiat currency to put your trust in.

Only real use I've saw for bitcoin so far is to send money to Mexico. The Casey's gas stations here have bitcoin atms the Mexicans use to send money out of the U.S back to Mexico cheaper than other services.

Bitcoin itself is a phantom on paper, a typical pyramid scheme. It has no material backing, none. If the corner supermarket goes bankrupt it at least has a vacant store front. That vacant building has some value, maybe not much, but something. Bitcoin doesnt even have a vacant building if it goes to zero. With that said, I hate to see people loose money in any investment. But anything that is publicly traded will have its highs and lows. Best of luck to those who invested. Its no different than picking stocks. Some people invest in stock A, while others prefer stock B. And you're so wrong. Bitcoin is based on a network of computers and server farms that perform work to transfer payments across the system. It's just not a made up thing. Course if an EMP hits that wipes out the Internet then it will become worthless. Of you had a cold storage wallet and your coins were protected in it if the system does come back up it would have some value again. Think of it as PayPal if PayPal had. PayPal tokens called PTC without the woke nonsense.

Bitcoin from Feb. 2025 to now negative ~34%. Stock Market (DJIA) from Feb. 2025 to now positive ~11.50%.
Not to be bickering here but Bitcoin is an investment financially but a very high risk, high volatility and needs to be a long term commitment. I'm not saying it is bad or good just giving you the facts.

If BTC matures to its potential, it will take another generation or two What happens in the months after the last token is mined will be the big tell I think. Another possible issue with the BTC networks right now is electricity costs. with AI data centers trying to gobble up the grids as much as possible, the bitcoin farms are going to take a hit even the ones operating on "waste energy" sources and off-peak mining.
