I just applied for and got an apartment that has all bright white walls, and this fake looking grey LVP flooring that gives the whole place a real stale vibe. Almost like interrogation room meets yuppieville. I do have autism so I don’t like ‘bright’ anything. How can I do it up so that it has more of a warm feel to it or make it looks like a trapper actually lives there. Was thinking just to get a big area rug that’s rustic themed and then maybe cover the walls with camo burlap or something? I have no idea. Feels a bit odd coming on a trapping forum to ask for decorating tips but I figured yall might have some good ideas.

A big rug is a great idea. Some live plants really help, older taxidermy can be bought cheap on auctions or Facebook marketplace.

A small fish tank can add a ton of life to a place if you're into that sort of thing. Picture is a pothos growing out of my fish tank onto a deer mount I paid $70 for. This is my favorite little corner of my house.

A soft beige/yellow is a perfect warmth for any room, and goes well with any furniture or pictures. Woodwork especially goes well with that tone.

Varied names are used, such as Apache Tan, Harvest Beige, etc. The right lighter, softer tone can be chosen at your paint center. What's neat is that colour changes in shadows to the time of day , making nice moods as the lighting moves along.

I'm not speaking of Taupe. That's a cold clay tone. UGH...

A beige with touch of yellow tone in it . Softened with other colours just right to warm a room and not make it feel smaller.

Ive had that colour in my cabin for years. It compliments any decor, wood or otherwise.
