Does anyone mess with moving catch circle dirt and using it at a new set? Remakes just seem to be such a higher catch % for me than fresh sets. Plus, that the pulverized dirt left after a catch is super easy to set in. I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my radar. Of course, it would have to be enough at a set to spread it around and not just over the trap bed.

Yes, I do it once in a while. I'll have a set close by that's not producing. So, I'll scoop some up and sift over the other trap set area. Some feel it's worth the effort to put it in buckets and take it to other areas to use, but I don't. You'll just have to test it out for yourself and if you feel it ups your take percentage then decide how much you want to do it.

Right now our coyotes are breeding here in Central Texas. I keep a few jars in my side by side. I scoop up dirt from female catch areas. Especially if I can get the dirt where she peed. I sprinkle a little at all the sets afterward. Just a little does the trick.

I also set multiple sets at each spot. I catch female - male

I do for Fox. In my area, once you catch a fox you can't keep them away from the set. I move dirt, or grass to another set that isn't producing. Or when I have 3 sets in one area. Two will continue to catch fox, the one will not. So I will move dirt to the one that hasn't. Within a day or two that set will have a fox.

Ive scooped up a half a 5 gal bucket in the past when I've caught an adult female coyote.

But, I just use a pile of it as a backing at a new set. Ive never spread it all around as I'd rather the coyote focus at the trap.....not mill all around.

Many times when I feel it is needed. It is effective, yes.

I've done it before and had good luck with it, and use it only for the bait.
Like a urine stained dirt and turned.

Still spread some around, but use a mound of it for the attractor.

Let me sugar coat this
